Stories from the eyes of an owl

A pocket concertina booklet containing six 148mmx148mm visual poems and an A5 print. The booklet is sold out, but Rare Swan and I have agreed to print up to 100, so there may be more in future.

Description

Rare Swan press and Sarah-Jane Crowson are delighted to announce a collaboration in Autumn 2022, when Rare Swan will publish six of Sarah-Jane’s ‘Stories from the Zodiacal Light’ as a limited edition artist’s book.

To celebrate this we have produced a pocket concertina poetry booklet of six visual/found poems with a seasonal theme: Stories from the eyes of an owl – a spontaneous, spur-of the moment collaboration between Sarah-Jane and Renée Seigel.

We will be printing x25 of these initially only as a not-for-profit limited edition and won’t ever print more than 100. As this is the visual poetry equivalent of a chapbook and we want to make it accessible for everyone, we’ve kept costs as low as we can, and ask instead that those who have the spare money match the cost of the book in a donation to charity (optional).

Update

Stories from the eyes of an owl sold out in 72 hours (wow) and we’ve now despatched all the copies.

We have made the last International Posting date to ensure Christmas delivery, so everyone should get their copy before Christmas.

If you don’t receive your copy before the 6th of January or it arrives damaged, please let us know.

Details:

A pocket concertina booklet with six 148mm x 148mm colour-printed reproductions of collages (originals made using a mixture of analogue and digital methods) and an A5 art print on Perlino Cotton 300 gsm paper.

The book is printed on Tintoretto Gesso 300-350gsm paper with exhibition-quality digital print.

Your package will contain a couple of artsy surprises.

Why are you so concerned about making this affordable?

Years ago,  Sarah-Jane made a pact with herself that the first printed item she set her name to would be as beautiful, lovely, and affordable  as she could make possible.

Rare Swan are lovely people who have embraced this journey into making an artist-book chapbook with style and panache (and a completely gorgeous bookmark).
